Just got the new Fountains of Wayne album and I feel it needs to be said just how awesome an album this is. Pure pop-rock genius, and really, the album that "Maladroit" by Weezer should have been. Hopefully Stacy's Mom wont be the only single off this, because anything from Mexican Wine to Hey Julie would make a great single.

Good week all round for British music- the Darkness and Busted winning Brit awards, Busted pushing Sam and Mark off the number spot with the excellent Who's David?, Michelle's album being kept off the top spot and ending up at 3 (mmmm, an album of weak ballads by a piss poor karaoke singer. That sounds good) and Alex Park's 2nd single limping in at no13. All we need to do now is shoot Blazin Squad and all is right with the world.

Congratulations to Sam and Mark for doing a version of With A Little Help From My Friends so bad that the Kevin Keegan/ Little and Large version so good. Sadly the answer to "what would you do if I sang out of tune?" seems to be "buy your dreadful single" from the British public, but your career is going to be gone soon. Sam and Mark? I'd rather listen to Pat and Mick

Until next time

Congratulations to ITV, and especially the crew of Tricia, for an excellent piece of soundtracking. To complement a programme called "My Dad Is Too Obese To Leave The House", the music chosen was "All This Time" by musical hippo Michelle. Good work!

For fuck's sake, I go on holiday for one bloody week and the population of the United Kingdom let me down. How the hell did Kerry McFadden win IAC...GMOOH? Did no-one notice how fucking annoying she was? Seriously, I worry for the future of the nation when being a vacuous blond airhead makes you a national treasure (although it means that Monsters4gods picked themselves the right vocalist...only joking Jack). It's not even as if she was any good in the jungle. Almost every trial she was put in, she fucked up, refusing to even do the last one they had for her. Utterly disgraceful.

Alex Park's new single is called Cry, which is quite ironic considering all she does is whine for 3 and a half minutes.

Recommended viewing- I know I'm about five years late on this one, but Being John Malkovich is an excellent piece of film. John Cusack is excellent as always and Cameron Diaz and John Malkovich both deserve huge amounts of credits for their roles in the film, with Diaz sporting a terrible wig. Charlie Sheen makes a welcome cameo and the film is so strange, yet incredibly funny, that I'd recommend it to anyone.

It's been three long years, but FINALLY Emilio Estavez makes his return in the film Bobby. Written by Emilio Estavez, it's a drama about the death of US Senator Robert Kennedy. Directed by Emilio Estavez. With a cast and crew of this high standard, this film has Oscar written all over it.

Until next time...rejoice in the good news that Michelle from Pop Idol is considering retiring as she hates being in the public eye (according to the Star)
